Founded in 1999, FERC is a charitable organization run entirely by volunteers. We raise funds to help disadvantaged rural children in Northern Thailand benefit fully from their schooling.
We are an equal opportunities organization: ethnic, religious and political backgrounds do not influence our choice of beneficiary or educational activity.
FERC is an officially registered entity (NGO) with a Board of Directors headed by its founder, Mr. Marc Henri Dumur, Honorary Consul of Switzerland in Chiang Mai. Everybody involved with FERC is a volunteer with no payment whatsoever.
The operations of FERC are carried out by the Advisory Committee (AC), as follows:
| President | Eveline Willi |
| Treasurer | Alberto Cosi |
| Secretary | Thomas Morf |
| SSP (Sponsored Student Program) | Eveline Willi |
| Fundraising & PR | Ferdinand Hoekstra |
| SC (Scholarship Committee) | Heinz Willi |
| ASP (Alumni Student Program) | Nun Chadathacha |
| Marketing / Advertising | Patrick Roberts |
| Webmaster + IT | Heinz Willi |

We provide scholarships to students from low-income families in Northern Thailand, who would otherwise leave school at 15 years of age. The scholarship enables them to stay on at school for a further three years, and gives them the opportunity to go on to further training or academic study, and thereby enhance their career prospects in the future.
By becoming a sponsor, you support a student for the full 3 years it takes to get the diploma.
Thanks to one-off or regular donations, we can support students for whom we do not (yet) have a sponsor.
100% of the revenues benefit the cause of FERC.
The volunteers who run FERC do not receive any compensation. Your sponsor contribution goes entirely to the student you sponsor.
There are some minor unavoidable organizational costs, such as bank costs and the costs for this website. These are paid for through special fundraising and donations.
