How you can support Thai students

There are two ways to help Thai students escape the cycle of poverty. The most effective is to sponsor one student for 3 years so that they can graduate from high school. But of course you can also just make one or more smaller or larger donations.

FERC’s system of close liaison with teachers in many dozens of schools, a system through which highly deserving and in-need students get to be identified and recommended for FERC assistance, works very well indeed.

Scholarships are the seeds of the future … some will fall on rocky ground and yield nothing. Once in a while, they will grow and produce great results …

Become a sponsor and make a difference

Your sponsorship money will help FERC make a big difference to the life of a student in Northern Thailand, by helping them remain in school for the last 3 years of high school and provide a greater chance of their securing a better job in the future.

The 3-year sponsorship amount is 6,000 Thai Baht per semester or 12,000 baht per year for a total of 36,000 baht. That’s about $355/€325 per year or $1,065/€975 for 3 years. You can pay the full amount for 3 years of sponsorship in one go, or you can also choose to pay in 3 annual installments of 12,000 baht.

Quite an expense, but know that your support isn’t just about money, as the student you sponsor will know someone is concerned about them and investing in their future. That’s a priceless feeling.

Or make a difference with a donation

Donations, small or big, are more than welcome. They will be added to our funds to support students without a sponsor, to continue the financial support of a student if a sponsor ends prematurely and to cover the few administrative cost we’ll have to make.
